　　比如爱情。其实没有爱情的日子也可以活出另一种平静的幸福意味，只要你的心里欲求少一些。如果你欲求很多很多，**知足，就注定你**不会幸福，哪怕你拥有了真正的爱情，你依然会觉得不满足。有时候，降低一下自己的欲求和对生活的要求，幸福就会来扣你的门了。

　　幸福，可以与爱情有关，也可以与爱情无关；可以与财富有关，也可以与财富无关。特别是老了的时候，特别是人寂寞孤独的时候。就像在沙漠中行走的人的眼里，幸福只是一滴水；在饿汉的眼里，幸福只是一块面包而已。

　　只可惜人往往都是得陇望蜀，一朝原来的东西满足了，就又期待着更高更多的东西了。所以这个世上真正有幸福感的人并不多。很多人都说哪一天什么什么东西有了，那才会过上幸福的生活，其实往往不然。德国哲学家叔本华说人的生命就是人的意志，意志在它存在的一切级别上，都表现为挣扎，为了实现自己的欲求而挣扎。我们的命运就是意志的表现，我们的一切活动都是为了满足意志的欲求。而这种挣扎决定了人的本质是痛苦。其一，我们的欲求**不可能得到完全的满足，刚满足了一个，马上又会产生另一个；其二，我们一生中的任何一个时段，如果不是这个欲求占据着当前位置，就是另一个欲求占据着，这也就意味着，不是这个痛苦占据着就是另一个痛苦占据着。我们不断挣扎着追求一个个幸福，挣脱一个个痛苦，但是另一个痛苦已经在门外等候了，因为我们的欲求**不会得到满足的。因此，叔本华认为既然人的痛苦来自欲求，只有限制自己的各种欲求，甚至放弃欲求，人才能真正幸福。然而限制自己的欲求，让欲求少一点，说容易，做到却难。所以为什么每个以普渡众生脱离苦海为宗旨的宗教的教义都离不开叫人修身养性这一点？道理就在这里，它们告诉人们：只有不断修身养性才能克制自己欲求，战胜自身弱点，使自己心灵丰满，心态平和，如此自然就能做到知足常乐且自满自足了。

　　西方有一则故事：一天，在海滩上，大富翁看见渔夫躺着晒太阳，便责备他说：“大好时光，你怎么不多打点鱼呢？”渔夫反问道：“打那么多鱼干嘛？”富翁说：“卖钱呀！”渔夫再反问道：“卖那么多钱干嘛？”富翁说：“有了钱，就能像我这样，有自由有快乐，悠闲地在这片美丽的海滩上散步。”渔夫说：“我现在不正快快乐乐地躺在少滩上吗？”

　　幸福与否，并不取决于外在的东西多少，而取决于一个人的生活态度。生活态度是一个人人生修为的**体现。

　　因而，亚里士多德说：“幸福就是自足，幸福的自足就是无求于外物，而自满自足。”
