Physiological Properties, Handling of Dicyandiamide
The acute toxicity of dicyandiamide is very low:
LD50, oral, rat > 5000 mg/kg;
LD50, dermal, rabbit > 2000 mg/kg.
Nevertheless, when handling these products the usual precautions recommended for chemicals
should be observed. Particularly the general threshold value for fine dust (6 mg/m3) and the
MAK value for silica (4 mg/m3) must be observed.
